Under English law, an
annulment can only be granted for very specific reasons that demonstrate a marriage was not legally valid. An
annulment takes around the same time as a divorce to go through the courts and costs about the same. The legal process is similar and, whilst there are certain papers that have to be filed with the court and a procedure to be followed, provided you are both in agreement about the decision to divorce and on what grounds, it is a straight-forward process.
