Couples in China's biggest provincial municipality were not allowed to divorce during celebrations of 60 years of Communist rule, the BBC reports. Weddings were allowed in Chongqing during the eight-day holiday at the end of September though, and marriage registration centres were swamped with couples wanting to tie the knot.
